Values in Action:
1. I Will Do My Best!
a. Think of thing that you find difficult to do and want to give up. For example, studying Math or learning to skate etc.
Ans: I find learning Math difficult. Sometimes, the problems are hard to solve, and I feel like giving up.
b. Write down why you find it difficult?
Ans: I find Math difficult because I don’t understand some of the concepts easily and I make mistakes while solving problems.
c. How can you help yourself to better? For example, can you change some habit? Can you practise more? What else can you do?
Ans: I can help myself by practicing Math every day, clearing my doubts with my teacher, and not getting discouraged by mistakes. I can also watch educational videos and solve more exercises.
d. Who can help you to do better?
Ans: My parents, teachers, and friends can help me to do better. They guide me, support me, and encourage me when I face some difficulties. My teacher explains things clearly, my parents help me at home, and my friends motivate me to keep trying.
e. What steps will you take so that you do not give up?
Ans: I will make a daily study timetable and stick to it. I will ask for help when I need it and try to stay positive. I will remind myself that I can improve with effort and practice.
2. (CLASSROOM ACTIVITY)
3. Write a short essay on the topic: “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again!”
Ans: Sometimes when we try to do something new, we may not get it right the first time. That is okay. We should not feel sad or stop trying. If we keep trying again and again, we will learn and do better.
Great people did not give up when they failed. They worked hard and tried again. We can also do the same. If we fall while learning to ride a bicycle, we get up and try again.
So we should always remember — never give up. Keep trying until you succeed!
4. Who is a differently-abled person? Take any one kind of disability and find out about some of the kind of difficulties this person faces. Find out how they overcome these difficulties. What can you learn from these?
Ans: A differently-abled person is someone who cannot do some things like others because of a problem in their body or mind. But they can still do many things in a different way.
Example: A person who cannot see is called blind.
They cannot see things around them. They may find it hard to walk alone, read books, or cross the road.
They use a white stick to walk safely. Some use special books called braille to read with their fingers. Some get help from guide dogs or kind people.
We learn to be brave and never give up. We also learn to be kind and helpful to others.
